Lebanon and Turkey: a Long History of Trade & a New Future of Prosperity
For millennia, Lebanon and Turkey have enjoyed parallel situations as the world’s gateways between East and West: Lebanon to the Arab World, and Turkey to Eastern Europe. Lebanon’s pledge to this was reified in Prime Minister Hariri’s groundbreaking visit to Ankara in January, during which he and his counterparts from the Turkish State enacted multiple agreements easing trade barriers and establishing bilateral relations between the two countries.
About the Conference
As a continuation of this effort, Confex International Sal will host “The Turkish-Lebanese Economic Forum” with the collaboration of the Central Bank of Lebanon, World Union of Arab Bankers, Beirut Chamber of Trade, Industry and Agriculture, the Lebanese-Turkish Business Council, Union Chambers of Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), The Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), and the Lebanese Economic Forum on Monday & Tuesday, April 19-20, at the Moevepick Hotel & Resort in Beirut.
The forum will be held from 9 AM to 2 PM on both days, with additional workshops held in the afternoons, including lunch at the hotel and the conference gala dinner.
The Forum main topics:
- Strengthening the mutual Trade and Industry Business
- Capturing Opportunities in Real Estate Development and Contracting
- Round Table about the Banking and Financial Sectors in both countries
- Bracing Tourism in Lebanon and Turkey
- Cooperating prospects in the diverse sectors (transportation; insurance; energy; IT etc)
Attendance
“The Turkish-Lebanese Economic Forum” will congregate businesspeople from key sectors, including banking and financial services, real estate, travel and tourism, technology and telecom, renewable energy and others. Governmental officials from both counties will also be in attendance.
